Martijn Molenaar did his PhD at Utrecht University, The Netherlands (under supervision of Prof. Dr. J. Bernd Helms) working on lipid droplet biogenesis and LC-MS/MS lipidomics data analysis. Here, he developed the web-tool LION/web to perform Lipid Ontology (LION) enrichment analysis. In 2020, he moved to the EMBL in Heidelberg, Germany, where he started his postdoc in the lab of Theodore Alexandrov. In this lab, he works on spatial single-cell metabolomics/lipidomics approaches using MALDI-MS.
